You are almost there! A few quick steps and Gobot will be up and running on your BigCommerce site. You only need to complete these steps once and Gobot will be able to run on all the pages of your BigCommerce site.
If you found Gobot in the BigCommerce apps directory and already downloaded Gobot within BigCommerce, there is no need to repeat these steps. If you signed up for Gobot outside of BigCommerce you will need to follow these steps to install Gobot on your BigCommerce site:
- Step 1: Search for Gobot in the Big Commerce app directory by typing "Gobot" in the search field, and click on GET IT NOW in the Gobot search result . Alternatively, you can find the Gobot BigCommerce directory listing by clicking on this link: https://www.bigcommerce.com/apps/gobot
- Step 2: Login to your BigCommerce website.
- Step 3: Click on Apps in the admin panel on the left hand side, and then click on CONFIRM.
- Step 4: Enter the requested information in the Gobot signup form (if you are creating a new account) or the Gobot login form (if you already have an account). Once you are in Gobot, click Publish towards the bottom of the screen, followed by Install in the popup window, followed by Copy to Clipboard.
- Step 5: Next, paste the Gobot code snippet you just copied into your BigCommerce website code. You only need to do this one time and it will apply to all of the bots you ultimately create on Gobot. Go back to your BigCommerce home page, click on Store Setup in the left hand panel, and then click on Design (also in the left hand panel). Under Themes, click on Edit HTML/CSS. In the left hand panel click on footer.html. Scroll to the bottom of the code that appears and paste the Gobot snippet at the very end. Click Save in the upper left hand corner.
Congrats! Your Gobot is now officially connected to BigCommerce. Go back to Gobot, select one of the pre-built bots in the left hand panel (chosen for you based on the goal you indicated during signup) or build a bot from scratch. Click on Publish towards the bottom of the page and then Close and Make Live. Next time you visit your BigCommerce site your new bot will welcome you!
