How to Install the Gobot Widget (third-party livechat and chatbot app) on your Tumblr Site

Gobot can work on all websites. Follow the steps below to get Gobot running on your Tumblr site in two steps.

  • Create a chatbot

The first step is to create your bot and retrieve its embed code. In Gobot, after clicking Publish and then Install Gobot, you click Copy to clipboard to copy your embed code. See the section focused on publishing of this Gobot guide if you require step-by-step instructions.

  • Paste embed code into a module in your Tumblr site

The second step is to add the Gobot embed code you just copied to your Tumblr site.

You can add OptinMonster’s code anywhere in the html template file for your site.

We suggest following Tumblr's latest instructions for adding code into your Tumblr site. Tumblr’s guide shows you where to add code to all the pages on your site.

Head on over to Tumblr.com and login into your account. From the main screen, you can click the person icon, and click the edit appearance button in the drop down menu.

Next, click the Edit theme button on your website’s description area. You will be taken to a page where you can edit different aspects of the page.

Select the Edit HTML link near the top, here you can add your Gobot embed code just before the closing </body> tag.

Your Gobot is now officially connected to your Tumblr site! Go back to the Gobot tab in your browser, click on one of the pre-built bots in the left hand panel (chosen for you based on the goal you indicated in the signup process) or script your bot from scratch, and then click Publish and make live. Next time you visit your Tumblr site your new bot will welcome you!
